Pearls of Great Value

Father God I pray for my friends reading this today. Send encouragement their way! Send a messenger to uplift their spirit. A word of cheer, a word of hope, a kind letter. I pray that they will encounter You today in a way that they may not have before! Bless them with Your peace and make Your face shine with joy upon them. 

I pray that You will send mentors who will speak into their lives and motivate them to a deeper level in their walk with Christ. Send a Joshua, a Mordecai, a Jonathan, a Deborah! We pray for wise counsel, for joyful countenance, and for the steadfastness of heart to meet us today. As we travel and as we work, as we raise our children, as we teach and as we learn, may Your gracious spirit lead us toward true friends who have our well-being in mind. 

Abba, you know that we often struggle with complacency. You know very well how we often stop pursuing when we perceive that things are going well. How often do we lean on our understanding and don't even acknowledge you? Too many times to count. It's crazy how easily we slip into the "I can do all things on my own" mentality. We backslide because we lose vision. We lose vision because we have lost that first love. Forgive us for forgetting about Your blessings and benefits upon us. Bring us divine nudges, Lord! Renew the right spirit within us and help us to cultivate an attitude of gratefulness. Restore our sight to see and love those things that You love! 

I pray for Godly mentors! People in our lives who will keep raising the bar for us, asking for a little more effort and better results, and teaching us to expect more from ourselves. People who are not afraid to call us out when we speak or act in a wrong way. Voices who are unapologetically sold out for purity and righteousness. Voices who are unwilling to bow to the demands of culture. We need these relationships, Lord, and we ask for You to bring us to the right people and places at the right time. 

Help us also to be godly men and women who strive to give godly counsel. May those people who meet us walk away blessed and convicted to live for truth. May our lives, our words, and our actions, be perfumed by Your Presence Abba. I pray that there will rise among us warriors who will stand guard for the weak, will call forth for courage to arise, and will be harvesters in Your fields. Give us the desire to become these men and women! True and mature children of God who hunger and thirst for righteousness to cover the land. 

Thank you, Abba for hearing the cry of our hearts. Thank you for answering our call for help. We will not forget that You are Jehovah Jireh, "the Lord will provide." Today and every day!
