    Mighty Army

    You are a magnet! August 30, 2020

Heaven within you attracts all of heaven towards you. The more you grow in the Lord ,the more of heaven is being implanted within you. This light in you pulls the goodness of heaven towards you! It’s like a magnet.

You never have to doubt who is on your side, who is pulling for you. You have the whole of heaven cheering you on, fighting for you! So stand strong, Christian soldier. Stand strong! He is moving in and around you. Close your eyes and just breathe in. Rest in His goodness. It’s from this place of faith, this place of security that battles are won. Know that He is for you,not against you. Know that those who are with you are more than those who are fighting against you. Your enemy is outnumbered!  In 2 Kings 6 we read the story that displays this. The servant of Elisha went out and saw there was a great army of horses and chariots surrounding the city. To him (in the natural )it looked pretty bleak. Going to Elisha he said, Oh no! What are we to do? Elisha answered, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

Elisha knew his God. He knew the power and the might of heaven was on his side. His faith allowed him the vision to see what the servant did not see. So Elisha prayed and asked God to open the servants eyes that he may also see. The Bible says the Lord opened the eyes of the young man and he saw: and behold the mountain was full of horses and chariots all around Elisha. I love this story. It is such a beautiful reminder of how well God takes care of His own. I have to add this though: let’s say that Elisha and the servant didn’t believe that there was this great angel army all around them. Might this have affected their next step, their next decision to the negative? I firmly believe we often make hasty choices when we don’t believe in Gods provision. Or step into wrong choices that we would not make if we had the eyes of faith to see. How often do we make decisions without even thinking about the eternal ramifications? So often we don’t even take God into our everyday decision-making. He doesn’t get to have say-so. And then later we wonder what went wrong. We all need to have the eyes of Elisha who saw what the natural world-focused eyes could not see. Hebrews 11:1 says this about faith: “Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].”

We all need this faith that perceives as real fact what is not revealed to the senses. The eternal is real and it should be more real to us, sons and daughters, than our natural world. That might sound extreme, but think about it this way. Everything we see in the natural? Is fading away. It’s a vapor when compared to the eternal. So my view is this: why not focus on that which will be forever?

You are light in the Lord, Christian soldier. You are a mighty force. You pull the goodness of heaven toward you,so be assured, be not afraid. Be faith-full not doubt-full!

Let us be of those, who by the help of faith subdue kingdoms, administer justice, obtain promised blessings and close the mouth of lions! Hebrews 11:33
