“Give ear to my words, O Lord; consider my meditation. Listen to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to You will I pray. O Lord, in the morning You will hear my voice; in the morning I will direct my prayer to You, and I will watch expectantly.” Psalms 5:1-3 MEV
Prayer! Before anything else, this is what I should do! Early in the morning, this psalmist declares, I will direct my prayer to you. Isn’t that an awesome way to start the day? Just communicating with God?
Prayer! Before anything else, this is what I should do. No matter the problem, no matter the situation, whatever lies before me, I need to pray about it first before going to other people. This brings clarity, and often puts things into focus without the opinions of others interfering. God should be our first go-to person!
Remember, God has every solution to every problem that you will ever have. He is ever waiting for you to come to Him and receive the answer. Create the habit of being in contact with God throughout your day. Talk with Him, ask Him random questions and don’t forget to listen! You’ll be surprised with the answers you’ll receive.
Prayer teaches us discipline. To take time. Time is something we should value more. I believe that time given to God is time He multiples back to us. You can try to prove me wrong on this one, if you want! (you’ll be smiling at the end result).
Discipline yourself, start searching for the things of the spirit. Seek what is good and pure, right and true. This will give you discernment. Plus, it will teach you how to make constant adjustments in your life and this will keep many problems from cropping up. It’s like, the more you cultivate the good plants in your life, the more these can choke out the weeds. And, where there is a dense crop of goodness, no weed has a chance to grow!
P.S Don’t know how to pray? Pray the Psalms! Each one is a beautiful prayer to God. May the Lord bless you as you seek Him and may His favor surround you like a shield. The Lord will fulfill His purpose for you!
