Therefore since we also have such a large crowd of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us, and run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus Hebrews 12:1-2
Run! Run, beloved, run. I have made you to run this race! I’ve equipped you, made you strong. I breathe into you, refresh and renew you. You are never without my Spirit. I’m here with you. You are full of faith, you shall run and not grow weary!
My voice is the one cheering you on, encouraging you to keep going. To never stop, never quit running. I give you strength when you are weary. I infuse hope when you are discouraged. I whisper wisdom; I kindle passion for the race within you. There is always my voice, my voice with you; deep within your heart. Listen!
Don’t let strange voices lead you off the course. Yes, there will be distractions. There will be those calling for you to go astray. Beloved, stop and listen for my voice. I will lead you along paths of truth. Don’t become entangled in the vines of doubt and fear. Let not your feet be trapped in the lies and deceptions of the enemy. I give you truth to set you free; so that you can run in such a way that you may win.
I will provide your every need; only come, come to me. I’ve got you! I will not leave you to run this race alone. I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. In fact, I go before you, preparing for you the way. Should you become hungry or thirsty, I will supply for you. I have food and water plenty. Should you need help, call and I will answer. I’m here for you!
Run so that you might win! Stay on the track. No one has won a race sitting on the sidelines. No one has won by quitting when it gets tough! I’ll tell you a secret to winning this race: Keep your eyes on me. Fix your gaze on that which lies ahead, on the prize. Keep focusing on the eternal. It’s worth it!
Never waver. Heaven is waiting. All of heaven is cheering you on. Run, beloved, run!
